We have been looking for Jacob, also..
Jacob Graef was born about 1865 to George and Katherine Graef

We think he was a free spirit... Not willing to settle down..
We know Jacob married Emma Skroble..
and then they separated   don't know the dates of marriage and separation
They had a daughter Clara Graef ....

But then ..Jacob left Iowa around 1908.. with his daughter Clara for Oklahoma  along with  George Graef (his father) and Peter ( Brother)
They appear in a 1910  census for 4-ward Chickasaw , Grady, Oklahoma

Eventualy George, Peter and Clara return to Iowa
Peter got Clara pregnant  and they have two children  (Charles and Fred ) while in Oklahoma..

We don't know anything about Jacob's life after his separation from Emma
He could have stayed in OK and remarried  and would  have been about 45 yrs old when he stated his life in Oklahoma.
.
Is Chickasaw , Grady, Oklahoma   near Pauls Valley Oklahoma ?

Do you know how old Jacob was when he married Lille Burns?
Did they have children ?
Did he stay with her.?  If  so he might be burried some where in the area ?

If you have more information about Peter and Jacob while in Oklahoma would appreciate hearing more about their life stories

I have a web site for Graef Family History...

take a look at it ... http://graef-family.blogspot.com/

 Brenda thanks for contactng me

Dramatic Sad Moment in the Amazing Race

Yup , your are right , it was a dramatic sad moment in the Amazing Race...

I wonder if Jen will learn any lessons when she reviews the tape

of her Amazing Race Adventure

But she will probably give up and say

"I can't handle this anymore"

and turn off the VCR

Honoring the Memory of those Who have passed

Honoring the Memory of those Who have passed

Sometimes the details of an amazing woman's life can be inspiring
Her faith was a constant source of
strength
You all probably have this obituary of Mrs Auleen Eberhardt..
But I thought I would pass it along to remember and honor her on passing January 12, 1995

RE: Poems from Last Night

Thanks Mike and Andrea

For taking the time to put your thoughts and feelings into poems..
and sharing them It is great to read them
... Being a parent is not easy...
Now if the kids will only read and understand.. that God and parents guide them thru...
Their dark and mysterous and wonderful life adventures... I am sure they will someday..

More poems from last night. Should I change my middle name to Seuss?

The Future

I heard the call of God last night,
to walk by faith and not by sight.

To lean on His mighty hand,
during every trouble and demand.

To not forget that He¢s the king,
who created everything.

In His purpose and His plan,
this is where the future stands.

And so with joy and peace I rest,
and lean on Him through this test.

It is the hope from the Lord,
that gives the courage and a sword.

To fight a battle he controls,
He knows the outcome, where it goes.

Life is meant to be this way,
to teach me something every day.

The lessons learned are better than gold,
better than wealth is His hold.

I do not know the future¢s way,
But He¢s enough for me today.

Peace and hope they are in sight,
so back to bed I¢ll rest tonight.

Wake up

I¢m in the comfort of my bed,
a quite content and peaceful stead.

I hear a cry in the night,
get out of bed, turn on the light.

It is the cry of little one,
Demanding and fussy, so I come.

A little boy with a giant¢s scream,
Interrupted my pleasant dream.

My Privilege

It is my privilege to have you,
To hold and watch and love you.
To see you grow, learning so much.
To watch you laugh and feel your touch.

I could be doing other things,
Buying clothes or fancy rings.
Exercising, watching sports,
On the beach in swimming shorts.

Reading books, educated,
Relaxing, easy, quite sedated.

But now I want to be with you,
Ignore what I¢m supposed to do.
Dirty dishes, smelly shoes.
Disgusting things in every room,
I really need to find a broom.

But alas I know this time won't last,
It goes so quickly and so fast.
And in time you will be gone,
And so for now I¢ll sing this song.

It is my privilege and awesome right,
And so I¢ll treasure you tonight.

Mike
