Graef Historical Group provides History to all who care

DEAR ANCESTOR

Your tombstone stands among the rest

Neglected and alone

The name and date are chiseled out

Rickey - Iron...

On polished marble stone

It reaches out to all who care

It is too late to mourn

You did not know that I exist

You died and I was born

Yet each of us are cells of you

In flesh and blood and bone

Our blood contracts and beats a pulse

Entirely not our own

Dear Ancestor, the place you filled

One hundred years ago

Spreads out among the ones you left

Who would have loved you so

I wonder if you lived and loved

I wonder if you knew

That someday I would find this spot

And come to visit you

Hi All,

Today was a great day. Andrea woke me at 3:30 a.m. to tell me
to get ready. Her due date was March 3. She had the baby
today (March 4) at 6:30 a.m. The baby is healthy and happy, and so are we.
We could not be more happier, relieved, and thankful.
Possible names:
Isaac Clayton (dad's choice for a name)
Eric (grandma's choice)
Samuel Edmund (joshua's choice so initials are SEE)
Evan (Maureen's choice)
We have 12 hours to decide -- I'm still taking suggestions.
Will send pictures later this week.

Love to all,
Mike

Bob Takes Control

Dad, Fred Graef , teaches Bob
How to drive and control using the dashboard instruments 50 years ago in 1957,
Now I can hear him saying
"Bob, have no fear .. move on "
A graced moment a special moment......
to savior and draw strength from ..
may it become my spiritual lesson
My challange is never to forget this lesson
from Dad.. so I say Thanks Dad ..
Peace Be with you and all ..

This journey for Grezelda Jean Rickey began on February 25, 1919 " The past is a dangerous place to visit.. It is beauty.. It is also a burden, It is where we go, many of us, to remind ourselves, who we are, and even sometimes to find out" Eddy Harris St Louis Historical Society 1996
