RE: Poems from Last Night

Thanks Mike and Andrea

For taking the time to put your thoughts and feelings into poems..
and sharing them It is great to read them
... Being a parent is not easy...
Now if the kids will only read and understand.. that God and parents guide them thru...
Their dark and mysterous and wonderful life adventures... I am sure they will someday..

More poems from last night. Should I change my middle name to Seuss?

The Future

I heard the call of God last night,
to walk by faith and not by sight.

To lean on His mighty hand,
during every trouble and demand.

To not forget that He¢s the king,
who created everything.

In His purpose and His plan,
this is where the future stands.

And so with joy and peace I rest,
and lean on Him through this test.

It is the hope from the Lord,
that gives the courage and a sword.

To fight a battle he controls,
He knows the outcome, where it goes.

Life is meant to be this way,
to teach me something every day.

The lessons learned are better than gold,
better than wealth is His hold.

I do not know the future¢s way,
But He¢s enough for me today.

Peace and hope they are in sight,
so back to bed I¢ll rest tonight.

Wake up

I¢m in the comfort of my bed,
a quite content and peaceful stead.

I hear a cry in the night,
get out of bed, turn on the light.

It is the cry of little one,
Demanding and fussy, so I come.

A little boy with a giant¢s scream,
Interrupted my pleasant dream.

My Privilege

It is my privilege to have you,
To hold and watch and love you.
To see you grow, learning so much.
To watch you laugh and feel your touch.

I could be doing other things,
Buying clothes or fancy rings.
Exercising, watching sports,
On the beach in swimming shorts.

Reading books, educated,
Relaxing, easy, quite sedated.

But now I want to be with you,
Ignore what I¢m supposed to do.
Dirty dishes, smelly shoes.
Disgusting things in every room,
I really need to find a broom.

But alas I know this time won't last,
It goes so quickly and so fast.
And in time you will be gone,
And so for now I¢ll sing this song.

It is my privilege and awesome right,
And so I¢ll treasure you tonight.

Mike
